[Introduction]

Hkortess is a very vibrant planet, it has teal grass and a bright purple and pink sky with a red sun, it has bustling markets, lively town squares, and crowded apartments. It also has many caravans (Curtain caravans), and the food is extremely flavorful, tasting like a bunch of vibrant colors were splashed into your mouth. However their food is also very bold and bitter to most outsiders, especially with the Courcarvi seeds (Core-carve-vee).

[Creatures]

Hkortess is home to many species, however the wildlife is fairly limited as there is no large woodlands or bodies of water, and what bodies of water there are does not inhabit much aside from plant life. The species that inhabits Hkortess include:

•Snapdragons; a species of flower creatures the size of a hibiscus, they look just like a flower, but can flap around with two leaf-like wings and spit yellow-green acid. They are commonly found by Butour-Scent Bay, and less commonly found in the Sunset Canyons.

•[Unnamed Species]; a species of little slug like creatures, they often stick to the sides of buildings or cliff sides, Hohkey’s often cook and eat these creatures, as they’re easy to find and, as most Hohkey parents tell the children “helps you grow into a bright, strong Hohkey!” They are often soaked in strong scented, pinkish oil, which gives it a tangy aroma. They are commonly found in the Sunset Canyons or the cityscapes.

•Weavals; Giant, fuzzy white creatures that have limbs like tarantulas. They can curve inward, hugging themselves with their legs, while hanging from silk threads attached to poles that go across the apartments and closed alleyways. Weavals are cheeky creatures that like to tip buildings, but their silk is valued in Hkortess as it is what they use for all their cherished ribbons. Despite their troublesome temperament, Weavals can be tamed with the correct training to pull things, such as caravans, by using their silk threads as reins. There’s three main types of Weavals that can be seen in Hkortess: Silk Weavals, which are trained for the sole purpose of silk production, Trained Weavals, who help Hohkey’s with work ranging from construction to pulling caravans, and Wild Weavals, which aren’t tamed or trained and wander around as they please, often tipping buildings and knocking over market stands in the process. They are commonly found within the desert ecosystems, but Trained Weavals can be found wherever a citizen might travel.

•(Unnamed Species); a species that travels in herds, they are attracted to the large fields and are used for their wool to create yarn, which is used for fabric, garments, tapestries and carpets. Their wool is only in one color, but it doesn’t take much to dye it different colors, as Hkortess has lots of materials that can be used for dyes. They are commonly found within the desert ecosystems or fields, and sometimes travels to Butour-Scent Bay when thirsty.

[Civilized Species]

Hkortess is home to three main species:

•Hohkeys; a one eyed species of trouble makers who governs over the planet and runs the main cityscapes.

•Peridots; brightly colored bird folk who inhabit the Sunset Canyons, they’re often seen perched somewhere high up, laughing at whatever mischief is being caused below.

•Sporelings; humanoid mushroom creatures, they go wherever they please and are under contract to not cause trouble in the cities, however a large majority don’t listen to the laws.

[Culture]

/!\ This species has mentions of gods, religion, and things of the like, you are welcome to skip that section if that type of stuff makes you uncomfortable [It is mentioned after “Types of Hohkey Roles” and before “Hohkey abilities and traits”) /!\

Language: Hohkey Tongue, Shomeir

Government type: Oligarchy

V

Rulers:

Jarinnet (blue)

Quinnetta (purple)

Orinnet (blue)

Korinnetta (purple)

 (^eldest, also the speaker)

Boreannetta (red)

The rulers of Hkortess wear their hands wrapped together with fine silk, to Hohkey's it's symbolism for honesty and righteousness, as well as showing that all ideas are welcome, and they won't lift a hand against a citizen.

Types of Hohkey Roles

V

(This does not include the common market runners and citizens)

Government Based:

Beetles-

Armored enforcers who keep the cityscapes and marketplaces in check, they have different stages and types within their ranks

Bees-

A hive-mind of “geniuses” controlled by Orinnet, they are primarily in charge of trade and strategic affairs, but are also used for troubleshooting solutions

Other:

Butterflies-

A large devision of bounty hunters, while they’re not considered “Government Controlled” by the system, Quinnetta has a great amount of control over their actions by placing high bounties on whoever she wants gone

Beliefs

V

Religion: Airianism (most Hohkey’s worships their Goddess Airiannetta, the goddess of love, connection, and trickery)

Major belief: Hohkey's believe that every planet, creature, and life source is connected by one never-changing thread of power, and that Enn-Durance was created by four individual beings, Airiannetta, Nebuella, Koriestis, and Mirosies. And that once a creature passes on, it too will become a part of the thread, where the four beings lie.

In the same way how a member of the Oligarchy always has their hands wrapped together in fine silk, it is also a common religious practice for a Hohkey to take off whatever ribbon they have on their person, and wrap it around their hands while engaging with other religious practices.

“Most Hohkey’s follow Airiannetta, we are free to do as we wish, like the wind, like the air we breathe… or so I’ve been told~” -Arinnetta

“I’m alive because I’m of use, I live to serve Airiannetta, I live to serve the Butterflies, and I live to get rid of anyone who gets in my Queen’s way” -Admiral

“Airiannetta is the goddess of trickery, love, and connection. She is free like the wind, and that is what Hohkey’s represent, we don’t follow any rules that aren’t our own” -Quinnetta

“You know, Element Weavers are kind of connected, the way we Hohkey’s see it, you’re a child of Koriestis, Lex” -Quinnetta

(Admiral’s goodbye to Arinnetta, Reunion Arc, End of Crew Plotline)

Admiral unties the ribbon on her back, she wraps it around her wrists, tilting her head downward, saying “May Airiannetta bless your schemes, and fill your life with bliss”

“Yup, yup, just don’t make our deaths sound stupid~” -Arinnetta, Admiral reties her bow

“I won’t make any promises” Admiral grins

“Good bye, Sister, may we meet again on another timethread” -Admiral says, then disappears into the portal, which closes behind her

“So long… Sister” -Arinnetta

Hohkey abilities and traits:

Purple Hohkey’s:

Purple Hohkey’s are the most common and can be both male and female, they take up 50% of the population. Purple Hohkey’s have no special ability, but this doesn’t mean they should be taken for granted, they’re hard working and have an eye for trickery, the exact definition of what a Hohkey should be.

Blue Hohkey’s:

Blue Hohkey’s are commonly male, they take up 30% of the population. Blue Hohkey’s are known telepaths, they specialize in the mind and are born strategists. Blue Hohkey’s are most likely to become a Bee, but some still stay in the market area or travel abroad.

Red Hohkey’s:

Red Hohkey’s are commonly female, they take up 20% of the population. Red Hohkey’s are meticulous and cunning, they have domain over a substance called Shotoi, a mint colored substance that can be extracted from their bodies via specific extraction points, and retracted when use is finished. It is common belief that Red Hohkey’s were born linked directly to the Thread.

Subtractions:

Subtractions are Hohkey’s who have traits different than the average, this can take form in what could be described as disabilities, hybrids, and things of the like.

(Excuse my limited knowledge on how genes work, I’m trying my best over here)

Known Subtractions:

Arinnetta-

Arinnetta has a certain “ability” that some Hohkey’s have that originates in the eye, however it’s not much of a disability as despite seeing things differently, it helps her notice things easier and quicker, Arinnetta will often be described as having a “keen eye,” it’s almost like everything is very vibrant, but outlines and focuses on specific things. The downside is it’s kind of as if you’re wearing very vibrant kaleidoscope glasses, however this was never a bother to Arinnetta, as she’s lived this way her whole life. This ability takes up 15% of the population, resulting in this ability being considered rare.

Admiral-

Admiral, also known as Lorinnetta, is a hybrid between a Red and Blue Hohkey, this is very rare and should not happen, as when a Hohkey reproduces, the offspring takes up the color and ability of one of the parents, it’s only ever 80-100% of one parents genes, and never split 50-50%. And yet, when this does occur, a Hohkey will be split down the middle, with two different colored sides, resulting in the use of both abilities, or in the case of purple, one ability. This phenomenon only takes up 5% of the population, resulting in hybrids being extremely rare.

[Things Hkortess is known for]

Ribbons

Dye materials

Large harvesting fields

Wide range of trade

Seeds, scents, and fragrances

[Main areas]

•Butour-Scent Bay (b-you-Tour) (Means "vibrant" in Hohkey)

-known for its soft sand and bold scented flowers, it is deep within a vast desert which is where the main city is located

•Courcarvi Market

-One of Hkortess’ many markets, named after the Hohkey’s favorite type of seeds

•Sunset Canyons

-A canyon ecosystem where Peridots live, known for its dusty canyons, warm springs, and teal bamboo-like trees

•The Spore Bogs

-The home of the Sporelings, a mucky but colorful bog that is difficult to explore unless you are a Sporeling, it is known for steamy geysers and thick clouds of colorful dust, this dust stains fabric very easily and is used to make dye

[Species facts]

Hohkey’s—

•Hohkey's have little bottles that contains scented air, they find it calming to open the bottle and smell the air as it flows around their face (Hohkey's smell with their antennae)

•Technically Hohkey's don't "smell" or "hear," they sense things with their antennae, but to them it's the same thing as hearing and smelling.

•Immigrated Hohkey’s often cause a lot of trouble, but trading Courcarvi seeds to them can buy you some peace and quiet

Sporelings—

•Despite all Hkortess species being considered troublemakers, Sporelings are the real outlaws of Hkortess, many completely ignore the rules, and are often thief’s, killers, and some even put themselves up for hire to do “law abiding” Hohkey’s dirty work

•Sporelings are so troublesome in the cities that some Beetle Soldiers are trained specifically to deal with them, however most evade capture as they have mind-erasing spores
